A Barred Owl watches potential prey from a perch in Quechee Vermont.
The Barred Owl (Strix varia) is a large owl native to North America. It is probably best known as the Hoot Owl based on its call. The most common mnemonic device for remembering the call is "Who cooks for you, who cooks for you all."
ABOUT: John is a self taught photographer living in Haverhill NH. He has always loved the outdoors, and all the creatures that inhabit it. His passion is nature and wildlife photography. To him, there is absolutely nothing like spending time photographing new loon parents and their chicks on a quiet pond, or studying and photographing one of the many beautiful and rustic barns that dot the New England countryside. He strives to create images that tell a story, or depict a special moment in time. ARTIST STATEMENT: I hope my images enable you to share in my passion. Whether you are here looking for an image to purchase or license, or just stopping by to browse, I hope you find inspiration in what you discover. I invite you to connect...
